“at the time, he was creating a 'stable' of model plans, they all had different names. He chose "The Marlette" for his first model design after trekking to Marlette Lake for some fishing. He liked to go off road and explore the wilderness, using those old 'topo maps' from USGS. He had just about every map of Northern California and Nevada. Other names he used were Lassen, Humboldt, Emigrant, Donner Vista, Hobart, Summit and Washoe. None of those designs were as popular as the Marlette.We also noticed in the early 1980's that other designers in the area were taking hold of the basic design and making modifications, so you may see some similar designed homes out there that weren't ours”
